History
I’ve been playing bass since about 1989 and have played in a variety of settings, from school jazz band through a university soul/rock band, and now play in a church worship group. I have a Yamaha RBX-200 which I picked up at a low price from Musical Exchanges in Birmingham. This is an excellent bass for the price: lightweight and simple, with a neck that makes fast playing easy, and a nice bright sound now I’ve fitted EMG active pickups to it. Before that, I owned a Hohner B2V five-string headless, a lovely lightweight Bass Collection four-string, a cheapo Marlin Sidewinder and a bizarre three-quarter scale concoction that seemed to have been built on an electric guitar body.
I want a Status Kingbass, but they’re quite expensive. If you have too much money, and think I deserve one for whatever reason, contact me for posting details…
At church, I use a Peavey 80W keyboard combo with a 15″ speaker at the moment, and have a small Marshall Park B25Mk2 practice amp at home. I used to own a Trace Elliot 150W head which I ran into homebuilt 1x10″ and 1x15″ cabs.
